Short description

The course is based on the methodology “Household Economic Security” (HES) of the British Red Cross and is complemented by other tools such as the Oxfam "48 hours toolkit" and the IRFC RAM (Rapid Market Assessment). The course design aims to be both applicable to members of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as well as other humanitarian organizations.

Course Objetives

The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to carry out a needs assessment in order to improve the quality of the responses delivered in order to protect, recover and strengthen livelihoods in post- emergency and recovery phases.

Target audience

Individuals with:

  • Proven experience in needs assessment in emergency or recovery phases or, alternatively, experience in livelihoods programming.

  • Basic knowledge on cash transfer programming

  • Knowledge of livelihoods.

  • Training and/or experience as RIT/ENI.
