Mediterranean Youth Camp -Atlantis XXII
From 22 to 27 June 2026, our annual youth camp ATLANTIS took place in the beautiful coastal town of Ankaran, Slovenia. Now in its 22nd edition, Atlantis brought together young volunteers from 16 Mediterranean National Societies for a week of learning, exchange, and international networking, generously hosted by the Slovenian Red Cross.
Throughout the camp, participants took part in interactive sessions on Leadership Skills, Self-Care and Peer Support, YABC (Youth as Agents of Behavioural Change), Climate Change, and Online Safety, gaining practical tools while sharing experiences and perspectives from across the region.
The sessions were facilitated by volunteers and staff from the Italian Red Cross, Lebanese Red Cross, Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenian Red Cross.
The programme strengthened connections among Mediterranean National Societies and fostered a spirit of solidarity, friendship, and cooperation.
A heartfelt thank you to the Slovenian Red Cross for hosting Atlantis XXII, and to all participants, facilitators, and volunteers whose enthusiasm and commitment made this experience so special.
See you next year, Atlantis people!

Reduction: A pedagogical carbon footprint calculator

Within the framework of promoting actions to mitigate climate change and reduce our environmental impact, a pedagogical tool has been developed to calculate the carbon footprint. The tool is part of an educational project with the following objectives:
-
To promote a greater and better understanding of the organizational footprint
-
To provide an estimated measurement of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of Mediterranean National Societies - both at local and national level - to reflect on the points where to act, contributing to decision-making on sustainable practices and reduction and compensation strategies: “What is not calculated does not exist”
-
To raise awareness among volunteers and staff on the direct and indirect emissions they generate and promote environmental awareness and responsibility.
