13th Mediterranean Conference of the RC/RC Societies

The 13th Mediterranean Conference was hosted by the Red Cross of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the 2nd to the 5th of April 2019 in the city of Sarajevo under the motto “Standing for humanity”.
The Conference brought together more than 130 Delegates of the International RC/RC Movement, including representatives of the 26 Mediterranean National Societies members, the ICRC, the IFRC, the Standing Commission, the RC/RC Climate Centre, the IFRC Livelihoods Centre, the GlowRed, the IFRC European Action for Trafficked persons Network (ATN) and other National Societies and organisations.
Key challenges in the region were addressed around migration, trafficking, climate change, youth and gender and social inclusion; setting out the commitments of the Mediterranean National Societies in the Sarajevo Declaration.
Previously to the conference, the 2nd RC/RC Mediterranean Youth Meeting was held from the 30th March to 1st April, with the participation of 32 representatives from 18 National Societies who identified the following key points: Youth leadership and engagement, Social inclusion and culture of peace and non-violence - Prevention of violent behaviours, Climate Change, Migration and Trafficking Awareness.
